Deima's Sporty Shorts

Light and sporty shorts knitted in a soft and new type of summer yarn, made of cotton, modal and viscose, in double rib. the shorts are high-waisted and loose in the legs, with a panel down each side. The inspiration comes from classic running shorts, and the structure has been played with a bit, to add a little excitement to the look and the knitting process. The shorts will be your favorite cosy uniform in the winther months inside. 

To knit the shorts, you must be able to knit & purl, make increases and the bind off method is a bit different, but i believe that even a beginner would be able to pick it up and make them look neat. Wear them with sneakers and a cute sweatshirt to complete the sporty look, or a nice shirt and sandals for a more formal look.

The original yarn is not available in many yarn stores, but it is highly recommended. It is amazing to knit with, and falls so nicely after washing. And it comes in so many beautiful colors.

Yarn: Norma from Lang Yarns (55% cotton, 35% modal, 10% viscose)

Gauge: 20 sts x 25 rounds = 10 cm x 10 cm in double rib

Needle sizes: 4.5 mm circular needle (60 cm and 40 cm)

Sizes: small (medium) large

Yarn total: 4 (4) 5 skeins of original yarn

Alternative yarn: Mandarin medi from Sandnes, Belle from Drops, Mandarin Petite from Sandnes yarn (held double)

Measurements:

Hip: 84 cm (92 cm) 100 cm

Thigh: 52 cm (60 cm) 78 cm

Extra: 4 stitch markers and an elastic band for the waist, measuring between 3.5 - 4 cm in width.
