Original 1950s USAF B-15D Flying Jacket by 'Rolen Sportswear' Size 44 in USAAF flying jackets & coats

A stunning original USAF B-15D Flying Jacket by 'Rolen Sportswear Co' dating from the 1950s and in a size 44. This jacket closely resembles the earlier B-15 Flying jackets issued towards the end of the Second World War but features a blue nylon outer and dark coloured mouton fur collar. It features a heavy duty zipper to the front which is maker marked 'Crown', two slash pockets to the front featuring pop studs, knitted cuffs and waistband, fur collar and two internal pockets which again feature pop studs. There is another pocket fitted to the upper portion of the left sleeve which features another 'Crown' branded zipper as well as a pen pocket. The original USAF decal is still present above this and is not overly worn out, as they often are. Under each arm the original tabs are intact and held to the jacket with the correct original pop studs. The mesh square to the front is also still present which means the jacket is in its complete original state without any alterations. Inside the jacket the original label is still present and is bright and legible. It bears the title of 'Jacket, Flying, Intermediate Type B-15D' and the Milspec number of MIL-J-6251B. The size is marked as 44 and the maker's name of 'Rolen Sportswear Co' is also present as is the contact number AF-33 (602)-6079. The jacket is intended to fit a 44" chest although it will also fit larger, depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -  Chest - 26 1/2"  Waist - 16" Inside arm - 19" Outside arm - 27" Shoulders - 19" Length at back - 25" The overall condition of the jacket is very good with only limited signs of wear and use. Structurally it seems sound and the knitted cuffs and waistband are very good for a flying jacket of this age with only a few small holes. There is some staining which is illustrated in the pictures and to be expected of a vintage flying jacket. There are also a couple of areas of missing fur to the collar (picture 10) although this is not noticeable when worn or displayed on a mannequin. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-owned jacket with some small issues commensurate with age.  Altogether this is a fine example of a very rare and desirable model of flying jacket. It has a great look to it and would make an excellent addition to anyone's flying jacket or militaria collection!
