Why Is Locally Sourced Beef More Expensive Than The Grocery Store

Why is beef sold on here almost always 2 or 3 dollars more per pound than at the grocery store? I assumed apparently incorrectly, that by cutting out the middleman and the overhead costs of the store prices would be lower or at least the same as a retail store.
