Red Brandywine Tomato (Lycopersicon Esculemtum) - 50 Seeds Heirloom Brandywine tomato seeds produce firm, juicy, clear-skinned tomatoes with great flavor! Brandywine Red tomatoes sometimes reach 24 Oz in weight, and are reddish-pink. This is an open pollinated heirloom variety with a vigorous plant that takes 90 days to maturity. Indeterminate. Tomato is a warm weather crop best if started indoors about 6-8 weeks prior to final spring frost. Plant 2-3 seeds 1/4” deep per individual cell or 1" apart in fertile, humusy, and well-drained soil with a pH of 6.0-6.8. Keep the temperature at 70-75 degrees F until germination, as well as providing adequate light in a sunny window or under a grow light; keep the soil moist, but make sure drainage is adequate. Germinates in 5-14 days. A week before planting the seedlings outside, begin exposing them to the weather during the day to harden them; tomatoes cannot endure cold weather, and should not be transplanted outside until all threat of frost has passed. If providing a trellis, space the plants 2' apart, but if allowing the vines to spread, space the plants 3-4' apart. When transplanting, set the plant deep, up to the first true leaves, by digging a deep hole or trench. The stem will develop roots along its length. Life Cycle: Annual USDA Zones: 3 to 12 Light Requirement: Full Sun Planting Season: Warm Season Plant Spacing: 2-4' Planting Depth: 1/4"
