Founded in 2012. For a non-runner, the idea of running sounds awful. For many, running seems like a chore or may even be used as punishment. That is why The Irving Marathon Running Series was born. Our mission is to keep the community engaged year-round by not only motivating, encouraging, and rewarding healthy lifestyles; but by creating an incredibly fun and unforgettable experience. We believe by providing physical and mental wellness opportunities with community engagement, the trend of 35% of Texans battling obesity will be reversed.

The annual Irving Marathon in the Spring is a Boston Marathon Qualifier and features one of the most beautiful, scenic, and flattest courses in the country. The Irving Marathon Running Series is centrally located between Dallas/Fort Worth and DFW Airport and Love Field Airport, making it the perfect destination race for runners across the country.

Since its inaugural year in 2013, the Irving Marathon took off with over 1,900+ participants, causing the Irving Marathon to grow from one annual marathon event in the Spring to eight multiple-distance events throughout the year. Distances range from marathon, half marathon, 8-mile, 10k, and 5k to accompany all fitness levels. There are four events that are fast and flat (Love on the Run, Irving Marathon, Irving Oktoberfest Half Marathon, Irving Frost Marathon) and four events that are fun and festive (Irving St. Patrick’s 5k, Fiesta de Mayo Half Marathon, Irving Turkey Trot, Paws Colinas 5k-9).

The Irving Marathon Running Series benefits the Irving Schools Foundation. Each event brings people from all over the world together for a great cause by providing meals for children, school supplies, scholarships, and more. A scholarship is given by IMRS to ISF at each event totaling eight scholarships a year!
