A gouda style cheese produced in Holland, Prima Donna is firm, aged, with salt crystals throughout.
Sweet, nutty with hints of caramel and butterscotch. The little crunchy crystals in the paste are a perfect textural balance to the creaminess of the cheese.
It's a traditionally Dutch cheese however it has influences of Italian aged cheeses with its slight resemblance to aged Reggiano. Not as dry but has hints of it in the flavour.
Pair with a Cabernet Sauvignon.
