Original 1940s RAF Officer's Service Dress Trousers - Size 29x30 1/2 in Belts

A hard to find original pair of 1940s RAF officer's service dress trousers which belonged to 201405 Frederick Percy Batchelor who served with the RAF Technical Branch during the Second World War. Batchelor was gazetted in November 1945 meaning he was made an officer at some point around the end of the war. He was a warrant officer before this so the trousers may date from earlier. This pattern of trousers was worn with the matching service dress tunic throughout the 1940s. They are made from the regulation RAF blue - grey coloured barathea wool and are cut in a typical 1940s style with a high rise waist and wide leg. The trousers feature straight slash pockets and a twin pleated front as well as a button fly. More buttons are fitted around the waist to which braces can be attached. All the buttons are butterscotch coloured which is typical of those seen on war dated suits. Inside the waistband the original owner has marked his name and serial number in black ink. The trousers will suit a 29" waist and when laid flat they measure - Waist - 14 1/2" Rise - 14 1/2" Rear rise - 19" Inside leg - 30 1/2" Outside leg - 43 1/2" Cuff - 10" The trousers are in reasonably good condition and display well. They have some damage around the the crotch and near one of the brace buttons. There are also a couple of holes to the rear which are illustrated in picture 8. Please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that these are a vintage, pre-owned pair of trousers which may have small issues commensurate with age. Original wartime period officer's trousers are very hard to find today and these could be paired with a jacket from the same period to complete a set.
