This beautiful shorty sock pattern was inspired by these lines and the bonds of friendship between four hobbits, from one of my favorites, The Lord Of The Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. 

I hope this pattern inspires you to take one more step on your sock knitting journey with a combined cast on method, left and right leaning cables, shadow wrap short row heel and rounded toe.  Here’s to a new sock knitting adventure.


Top down, alternating cast ons, (Long Tail and German Twisted for the ribbed cuff), stockinette stitch with four columns with left and right leaning 2 stitch cables pattern for the left and right foot, shadow wrap short row heel, rounded toe. This pattern is designed to take the beginner sock knitter to the next level.


PATTERN ERRATA/CORRECTIONS AS OF 6/15/22

Hello Sock Knitters,

One More Step pattern has been updated after 2 typos were discovered.

1) Second half of the heel

On Row 4 W it says to, p to first tr st, k all 3 strands

CORRECTION: It should say p all 3 strands

 

2) Sock 2/Left Foot/Left Leaning 1/1LC

Rnds 1-3: Needle 1: K 10 (14,18) stitches, (P2 K2) 4 times

CORRECTION: P2 was added after (P2, K2) 4 times. It is included on the chart but was missing from the written instructions.
