M3 Heat Set Threaded Insert - AndyMark, Inc

These inserts can be used to create a connection point in a 3d printed or plastic object. Instead of gluing bits together, or screwing plastic screws directly into your 3D prints, use strong and reusable machine screws and heat-set inserts. The grooved outside allows them to dig into the plastic and retain their place, and an M3 threaded inside makes them compatible with many fasteners. Threaded inserts hold stronger than tapped threads in plastic and allow the screw threads to last longer.

These inserts can be installed in plastic components using a warm soldering iron. Simply heat the insert with the tip of the soldering iron and firmly press the brass insert into the part. Once cool, the insert will be firmly held in the part and ready for use.
