Story Pirates is best known for teaching creative writing and literacy programs to children, then using the kids’ own words as the basis for sketch comedy shows in schools and theaters across the country, videos on , and weekly radio shows on Sirius XM’s Kids Place Live. Our mission is to celebrate the words and ideas of kids, and show them that their stories matter.

We began that mission in 2003 as a one-off program in a single school in Harlem. Last year, we received more than 30,000 stories from kids at our New York headquarters alone. Every day, we invite children across the country to watch and listen as their stories come to life, and we watch as, one by one, they begin to call themselves writers.

Story Pirates is based in New York and Los Angeles.
