Jody's Bra

By A Mystery Man Writer

Adolescence can be hard. Especially for 12-year-old Jody, whose larger-than-average bra size makes 'fitting in' even more difficult. Facing pressure from her parents and ridicule from the skinny, popular girls at summer camp, Jody would like nothing more than to watch from the sidelines. When the girls steal her bra and display it for everyone to see, Jody is humiliated. But things only get worse when Jody's bra is kidnapped by the boys from the camp next door. Now, Jody must take the law into her own hands. Along with her faithful friends, and a newly formed alliance, Jody must embark on a mission to rescue her bra, regain her self-confidence, and save her otherwise doomed social life. Jody's Bra is a unique, coming-of-age comedy about standing up for yourself, and learning that sometimes it's okay to stand out. The story is geared toward audiences of all ages, both young people and adults, but especially women and girls. Using humor as a platform, it tackles issues of body image and self-identity, along the way emphasizing the importance of maintaining friendships, as well as standing up to bullies and learning to be comfortable in your own skin. The director hopes that by portraying difficult situations in a humorous light, and allowing people to laugh, the audience will be reminded that hardship passes, and perhaps for a moment, might be able to see their current trials through the hopeful lens of hindsight.
