Tantalite-(Fe) with Cassiterite, Albite and Muscovite, Lavra da Golconda, Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais, Brazil, small-cabinet, 6.0 x 4.0 x 2.5 cm, Thin, black, divergent blades of tantalite-(Fe) to 3cm are juxtaposed to a grouping of platy, white, translucent albite (var. cleavelandite) crystals. Minor cassiterite is associated with the tantalite-(Fe). A great association piece from this classic pegmatite locality. A trace amount of chipping to the tantalite blades. Ex.
