Breast CT developers aim to 'revolutionize' mammography

Researchers in California are hoping to revolutionize mammography quite literally -- with the aid of a prototype conebeam CT scanner that acquires images in a single revolution around the breast. In a preliminary study, its sensitivity for the detection of breast cancer was comparable to that of two-view mammography.
