A sculptural bronze candle holder (1965) by Michael Harjes for Harjes Metalkunst.
This piece is hand crafted from solid bronze with a beautiful patina. Formed of three fixed arms, which stack on top of each other creating a beautiful silhouette.
Harjes Metallkunst, is a family run artisanal metal studio in Germany, established in 1912 and led by Michael Harjes from 1954 until his death in 2006. Michael was strongly influenced by nature and introduced more sculptural and organic forms when he took over the studio.
This piece is in excellent vintage condition — there is a lovely patina to the bronze, resulting in a more muted surface to the metal.
