Description These delightful little art glass birds are hand made on the island of Murano in Italy by a master glass artisan. They are Lamp worked glass. The artist manipulates various rods or canes of glass by starting with one color for the body of the bird then adding different colors for the tail eyes head and beak. The artist heats the glass to the melting point then winds and twists the molten droplets into the desired shape. Next it is baked in an oven to solidify and fuse the various pieces together. Finally it is shipped off the island where the birds are sand-blasted to create the 'satinate' finish.These art glass birds come in various colors. We will choose a color for you.
